Settings

So today I am going to introduce the concept for the custom setting in Multiversal. Keep in mind that while this setting is being written and created forMultiversal, it is not the only setting that the game can be played with. It is supplamentary, The multiversal setting. In 2058, while conducting experiments for faster-than-light travel, scientists discovered something. Other Earths exist, and there are doorways to them! It soon became apparent that each of these universes operates under its own unique set of laws, and so exploration grew to discover what each of the worlds could offer. The paths to these new worlds were named Multiverse Doorways, and could be opened and closed at will. Now, 15 years later, they are searching for doorways to other universes, trying to discover new outlets for exploration. So in this setting, character creation takes place within a slightly more technologically advanced version of our own world, but the actual play of the game is primarily exploration of one or more of the other worlds in the Multiversal setting. These are the five known universes: Earth; the mid to late 21st century, a world where technology has developed to exploration and colonization of Mars and personal assistance robots provide service in everyday life. Earth 2; an early 21st century version of earth where Humans, Martians, and Titans coexist. This is a world of Superheroes, where the greatest warriors of the three civilized worlds work together to protect the Solar System from threats both foreign and domestic. Characters that travel to this world sometimes become one of the other two races, and usually develop mastery of at least one superpower, but otherwise this world is the same as modern Earth. Feln; a version of Earth without humans. Instead, countries dominated by large Felinoids have developed interstellar travel and colonized nearby stars. It is also without any sort of gun (They simply don’t work in that universe), relying instead on souped up versions of medieval weaponry. They also rely heavily on mechs within a semi-feudal society. When characters enter this world they grow feline ears and tails with soft fur over their entire bodies. They also walk digitigrade and possess the grace and reflexes of big cats. Taeleiya; a version of Earth without humans. Instead, the world is populated by varying sorts of elves and fae, with other monsters of lower sentience as well. The preferred mount for travel is the domesticated drake, a smaller cousin of the great and wild dragons! It is also important to note that in this world everyone has some magic, but learning to master their single magical talent can take a lifetime. Very rarely someone comes along who is open to all sorts of magical spells. When characters enter this world they randomly change into one of its varied races and develop a magical ability which they must attempt to master. On occasion, one or more characters may develop the ability to learn ANY type of magical spell, though at the cost of it being harder to master ANY of them. Drantha; a version of Earth without humans, but with a whole lot of others! This is the world of dwarves, orcs, and goblins. Gunpowder is still in its infancy, but airships and mechanical marvels abound! Characters that travel to this world change into a local race, and must learn to harness the powers of electricity and steam! regarless of whether this setting is released with the game or afterwards as a supplement, there will also be further worlds released within the Multiversal setting.
