Reflections

You glance down as you pass the pond, and stop. In it you can clearly see your own reflection, but there is something. . . . . off about it. It takes you a few moments before you realize what it is. It blinks. As you watch, starting now, your reflection blinks again. And then it reaches up and "touches" the inner edge of the pond's surface, like a person touching a mirror. That is when you notice more things that are unusual about the reflection. Although it is definately you, it seems different. As ripples flow across it's surface, the reflection changes, only momentarily, and you see flashes of yourself as something else. Sometimes a large, ferocious creature is looking back at you, sometimes a small radient being. Sometimes there are two moons in the sky, other times only one. It is as if you are looking at yourself as you would be seen in a hundred different worlds. This is what the Multiversal custom setting is about, imagining the possibilites. With that in mind, I have spent the weekend putting thought into what sort of races would be present in each of the worlds I talked about in the earlier post on settings. Except for Earth 1, each setting will have between three and four customized races, each with different advantages, Stats, and a mandatory Talent.

The races are as follows: Earth 1: Basic Humans as this is a future version of the contemporary world Earth 2:

Humans: Normal humans. Martians: Agile and intelligent Aliens, but not very strong. Tritons: Not strong, but resilient. With Earth 2, each of the races intermingle to some extent, though they have seperate homeworlds. Feln:

Felnade: Intelligent and Agile, but weak. Feldi: Capable with almost any weapon, and the best pilots. Felton: Very strong, but not very agile. Felnu: Not very smart, but sly.

The Felnians share a single homeworld, but have branched out to other worlds through interstellar explorations. Although they share a common political system, they are still not a single cultural entity.

Taeleiya:

Fae: Extremely persuasive, but extremely weak. High Elf: Strong and smart, but slow

Low Elf: fast and athletic, but not very strong.

Natural: Rolled as a basic Human except with an innate connection to one element. The different races of Tealeiya are frequently at war with each other, though there are a few places in the world that are considered "neutral," such as the Academy Cities. However, each race maintains it's own political and geographic boundaries. Drantha: Dwarf: Strong and Sturdy, but not so clever. Orc: Strong, but not so appealing. Goblin: Good with their hands, and agile, but not so strong or clever.

It is important to not that the Dranthan races are not combative as with a standard fantasy setting. They are, however, somewhat competitive economically, politically, etc. Just not openly at war. So there you are. It is a brief description of the various races you can look forward to when Multiversal is finished later this year. Stay tuned!
